Me, Myself & I
International artist, Christine Shorney, was born and educated in Wales taking her Degree in BA Art/Education at Aberystwyth University after completing a Diploma in Education in Bristol some years earlier. Afterwards, she lived in Australia where she taught Art at Canberra Grammar School for Boys.
Returning to the UK, she has lived in various places such Stratford-on-Avon and the Cotswolds where she became a Member of the Elementals: a group of artists exhibiting successfully throughout Wiltshire (repeatedly at Fisherton Mill, Salisbury) and Gloucestershire. Moving to the Welsh Borders in 2013 she is now a Member of HACS and has exhibited on a number of occasions. Other venues have included Avon, Devon and the Mall and Marylebone Galleries in London.
Christine has worked and experimented in most paint media including watercolour, oils and acrylics. The focus in much of her work is the use of colour and light on form with texture also playing an increasingly important role. In recent years, she has undertaken more experimentation in media which has sometimes led to a more abstract form of work.
Her work has sold across the world including: Australia, Barbados, The Netherlands, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Singapore and France. These sales have included several commissioned works. Currently she has several paintings available to view and purchase from Timothy Hawkins Gallery, Church Street Hereford. More works can be viewed on her instagram account instagram.com/christineshorney and if you would like to get any further information please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org
