From Isolation to Creation: Artists Respond to a Changing World
I came to Britain in 1995 as an overseas student from Japan. The purpose was to be bilingual and to study illustration in higher education. Many years have passed since and I got married to my husband. Now I have a happy family in Hereford. I am still active these days doing various types of artwork.
I have taken on commissions to paint personal portraits in the past. It was a pleasure to paint those lovely people. Personal portrait commissions are very welcome. Please get in touch with me using the contacts below for any enquiries.
As I have been trained in illustration, I have had some children’s book illustration work published. These include a series of three children’s books written by Daydee BaBa-Agasi, “Daydee’s holiday adventures series”, “Monkey train”, “Stubborn mule”, “Dancing Bear”, and also “Down on the Lake” written by Patrick Mooney. Illustration commissions are very welcome. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss ideas and to place commissions using the contact information below.
I like my artwork to reflect God’s love for each one of us. Though I also like painting the beauty of wildlife and space. I have been quite fixated on painting images of the prodigal son’s parable, expressing gentleness and the love of God in those images.
I love painting the beauty of animals to help and to protect vulnerable creatures. I have painted two paintings of a penguin swimming in different sea water environments. They are painted using watercolour. I also have some animals painted on tote bags with scripture on. The bags are not on the gallery list here, but can be purchased in my Etsy shop. If you are interested in the bags please click on the Etsy shop link in my contact information.
“Family Day out” was requested by my husband and is his imagination. Family day out in a VW camper van, which landed on a moon of the planet Saturn. The family are viewing the spectacular sight of Saturn, the moon Titan, and the galaxy in space. I have used a modern version of a VW van as a model for the futuristic image, nevertheless my husband prefers the old style of VW van.
Last year, I felt strongly about conveying messages to protect the environment of our planet to the wider public. There was climate change crisis last year. It is still on-going problem. There is no planet B, but still deforestation is happening continuously up to now. Followed by the forest fire crisis in Australia at the end of last year. I strongly felt it was very important to take part in illustrating this to help people understand how it has happened. I have painted two series of canvas paintings: “Effect of the change”, which is two box canvas paintings. The other is “Eating ourselves to death”, which is four canvas paintings. They are a thought-provoking way to give relevant ideas and understanding of how these problems occur. My wish is that these images help tackle the problems in our environment globally together as one team. To save our world.
I thank you very much for viewing my artworks on HACS online gallery.
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
“Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”
“For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
